Day 1

We are coming to a close in Germany and we are off to an amazing start and special thanks to Dirk and his organizational team for putting together this special opportunity for our American boys. This is offically our 20th exchange between our club and the Montabaur and Horressen German clubs. I think this program gets better and better each year and having put well over 1000+ kids through this exchange the impact will be with these boys and families the rest of their lives. The American Boys and Girls will be meeting the major of Montabaur at 10:00 tomorrow, followed by a tour of the city and lunch as well. Thanks again for allowing your boys to be apart of this program. More to come !!

Coming to a close in Germany and another great day put together by our German host. American boys played 2 x 40 minute games against Andernach and Wirges and always a bonus when the American come and beat Wirges 😂. Some of our American Chaperones (Matt and Ben) were introduced to a short E-Bike ride and 20KM later 😂 they were treated to a nice 🍺. Last American dad, Chauncer arrived safely and hit the ground run with Jergen showing him around before arriving at the games. The evening finished with some good food and music and we are off to an amazing trip. Tomorrow the boys have a down day and will spend some leisure time at the pool. Thanks again to everyone involved on both side. Watching our teams support each other during their matches today is what this exchange is truly about. More to come!!

Day 5-6

Are a wrap in Germany. Sunday was a down day for the boys with have family-day with our unbelievable host and we were treated to a swimming pool day and closed out the evening with most of the boys ended up bowling. Today the boys toured Marksburg Castle which is along the Rhine River and then the boys walked down to the Rhine River which flows a North current instead of the normal south current. Day 9

Hello everyone! I’m writing today’s update on behalf of Steve 😊 Day 9 in Germany is coming to an end. Today was a family day, which means the boys spent time with their host families. They went karting, played mini golf, and enjoyed a variety of fun activities. The chaperones had a relaxing boat tour on the Rhine River. We want to take a moment to thank all the host families here in Germany for their amazing hospitality. We’re truly grateful that your children are able to be part of this experience—it means a lot to all of us! All is well here! Heiko

Day 10

Another great day in the Westerwald! Enjoyed the boys conquering the Climbing Forest Bad Marienberg (www.kletterwald-badmarienberg.de) with an onsite picnic lunch. This evening is the first night of Kirmes (fair) im Montabaur with traditional rides and food on offer. Four stages of live music of various genres made for great entertainment. Tomorrow is a rest day for the boys. Until tomorrow, Tschüss!

Today was a family day and as you can see from the video a bit of spirited badminton. Some of us visited Marienstatt Monastery in Streithausen wich is celebrating their 600th anniversary. Tomorrow we play our final match of the trip for the Sir Alfred Müllers Cup followed by a cookout with family and friends. Until tomorrow, Tschüss

It is bitter sweet that we bring to a close the 2025 Exchange. We thank all the parents, German and American, who have participated in the program. A very big thank you to the organizing committee and supporting staff who have done such a wonderful job of coordinating all the activities during our stay and an especially big thank you to the Westerwald community for such a warm welcome! We are confident this exchange continues to build on the experiences of the past and allow for future groups to enjoy in the cultural and Fußball exchange. We wish you all the very best and hope to see you again very soon. Until then, Tschüss 🇩🇪🇺🇸⚽️❤️
